‧강의 초록

Understanding electron’s quantum degrees of freedom (DOF) and their interactions with light will enable the development of new electronic and optoelectronic devices with enhanced functionality. In this regard, 2D quantum materials have recently emerged as an interesting playground to explore electron’s quantum DOF. In the first part of the talk, we introduce electron’s valley DOF emerging in 2D materials and describe recently developed methods to control the valley DOF using various tools such as strain and electric fields. In the second part, we explore the creation of quantum light sources in 2D materials and their manipulations, which will be beneficial for the development of 2D material-based quantum information technologies.
